Our official CrossFit adventures have begun! Last week I mentioned that Adrienne and I went to our intro class. Well we’ve gone back for three more as part of our trial week. The workouts we’ve done so far have involved push-ups (lots of push-ups), rowing (distance and sprints), and today (finally!) some Olympic lifts. The coaches are bringing us along slowly, really focusing on technique and getting used to the movements. While I appreciate that, it’s kinda frustrating. Although, after lifting weights for the first time since high school and then struggling through 30 pull-ups, I’m bound to be pretty sore tomorrow.
This mornings workout was:
3×5 front squats
4×4 push press
30 pull ups for time
4x max push-ups
Not a bad way to start the day! Much better than running when it’s 12 degrees and dark outside. This week is supposed to warm up and see some sunshine though so hopefully we can get some running in later in the week.
One of my favorite things to make at home, or eat anywhere is Indian food. It packs amazing flavor with tons of variety. It is healthy and pretty easy to prepare. Last night Adrienne made a curry with tomatoes, potatoes, and cauliflower. Instead of rice we served it on top of quinoa, less carbs, more protein.
